An atmosphere consists of the collection of gases that are gravitationally bound to an object. Universe Sandbox simulates the effects of an atmosphere on the physical properties of a Planetary Body.

- Properties related to a planetary body's atmosphere are located in the Atmosphere section of the Surface tab of the object's properties panel.
Settings[ | ]
- The visible atmosphere can be toggled on or off and its color can be changed using the Atmosphere Appearance control in the Layers section of the Visuals tab.
